SLU-PP-332 is a synthetic small-molecule agonist of the estrogen-related receptors (ERRα, ERRβ, ERRγ)—nuclear receptors that regulate mitochondrial function and cellular energy metabolism. By activating these receptors, SLU-PP-332 increases expression of genes involved in mitochondrial biogenesis, oxidative phosphorylation, and fatty-acid oxidation.

In clinical studies, the compound enhances energy expenditure, improves metabolic efficiency, and shifts tissues—especially skeletal muscle—toward more endurance-type, oxidative activity.
